January Squad Post
After some much needed radio silence, I just wanted to say hello and give you a quick update. I have some one-off festival shows coming up, but at this point those are the only “originals” shows I’ve got on the cards, (hint hint). I love the idea of doing a festival show every now and then, but as I mentioned during the Memories and Dust tour, I won’t be doing any new JP albums or touring for a while.
In the meantime, I’ll be focussing on some writing and production stuff in the studio. My first kids book is being published late 2018/early 2019, and I have several others in the works. It’s been so much fun engaging that side of my brain and getting lost in a different creative space.
While I’m off the scene I wanted to ask you all a favour.
As you all know, streaming is the way of the future. There are problems with the model, no doubt, but my personal experience with streaming has been that the payments are increasing, and more than that, the exposure in other corners of the world, and the peer to peer referral side of things has been amazing.
Playing for the first time in Amsterdam to a sold out crowd last year was a great example of how it can work. The Summer, a song I wrote 8 or 9 years ago is now my most streamed song, and that means that catalogues of work are becoming important again for artists like myself.
So; really what I’d love to ask of you is to listen to my music on Spotify or whatever your preferred service is, and please FOLLOW me as an artist. That’s it! It’ll be interesting to see if we see a spike in listens actually, a social experiment of sorts.
Here is a playlist of all my music and a link to where you can follow me on Spotify. Feel free to share too.
Love to you all!
