Busking For Change
Busking for Change is a charity event founded by Josh Pyke in 2009, with all profits going towards the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF).
The ILF was set up by members of The Australian Book Industry with a vision to raise urgently needed funds to address the literacy crisis in remote Indigenous communities.
“I’ve been an ambassador for the ILF for about five-years now,” says Pyke.
“The reasons I got involved are the same reasons that I stay involved. I believe Indigenous Australians should have access to the same opportunities that any Australian does, and I believe that having good literacy levels can be a starting point in opening those doors.”
In previous events, Josh has been joined by an impressive line up of artists such as Boy & Bear, Passenger, Holly Throsby, Evan & The Brave, Urthboy and Patrick James
In the five years Josh has raised over $50,000 for ILF through the Busking for Change event.
